Grammy Award winning composer Mason Bates simultaneously blends the past and the present with Auditorium. Stulberg Gold Medalist and cellist Amelia Zitoun performs Schumann's enigmatic and lush Cello Concerto before the Orchestra shares Stravinsky's beloved orchestral suite inspired by his Pulcinella ballet, premiered by the Boston Symphony Orchestra in 1922.

About Amelia Zitoun, cello

Amelia Zitoun is a scholarship fellow at the Music Institute of Chicago's Academy, a training center for advanced pre-college students. She has been a student there since 2019. She currently studies cello with Hans Jørgen Jensen. Amelia was the Gold Medal prize winner of the 2023 Stulberg International String Competition. Orchestra experiences due to this win include performing as soloist on the Haydn D major Cello Concerto with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Ankush Kumar Bahl.
