Join us for an impactful evening where we celebrate the power of music that has faced censorship and prejudice throughout history. This special event will feature a diverse lineup of wind band music that challenges societal norms and inspires resilience, including Festive Overture by Dmitri Shostakovich, Little Threepenny Music by Kurt Weill, and On Parade by Amanda Aldridge. Through their melodies, we'll explore the stories behind these powerful works and honor the artists who dared to express themselves. Mark your calendars for November 16 at Meany Hall (UW), and be part of a night dedicated to embracing freedom of expression through the universal language of music.
