The well-known Christmas carol God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen ends with the words: "Oh, tidings of comfort and joy!"

This phrase beautifully encapsulates why we love the music of Christmas. It lets us experience the warm nostalgia of carols we have sung since childhood along with the excitement of discovering new music we've never heard before. It invites us to leave the noise of our daily lives and to hear once again the song of the angels, of "peace on earth" and "good will toward all."
