Three world-class musicians unite for an unforgettable evening! Jamie Barton, a mezzo-soprano "synonymous with excellence" (OperaWire), is critically acclaimed in concert, in recital, and on opera stages around the world. Violist Matthew Lipman brings his "musical sensitivity" (Chicago Tribune) and "rich tone and elegant phrasing" (The New York Times) as one of the leading players of his generation. Pianist Tamar Sanikidze, an "accompanist with wondrous tact and virtuosity" (San Francisco Chronicle), is a familiar face, having served as a coach with the Washington National Opera's Cafritz Young Artist Program from 2007 to 2012.
The trio will perform a new Music Accord Commission by Joel Thompson entitled On Mars, winner of the 2018 American Prize for Choral Composition for Seven Last Words of the Unarmed.
