Alisa Weilerstein's multi-year performance series FRAGMENTS brings together new commissions by some of today's most compelling composers with the timeless beauty of J.S. Bach's six suites for solo cello. During Carnegie Hall's 2024–2025 season, Weilerstein presents FRAGMENTS 2, in which new works by Alan Fletcher, Ana Sokolovic, Caroline Shaw, Daniel Kidane, and Gity Razaz are woven together with the Second Cello Suite, responsive lighting, and scenic architecture, inviting audiences into an immersive, multisensory experience.

About Alisa Weilerstein, cello

Alisa Weilerstein is one of the foremost cellists of our time. Known for her consummate artistry, emotional investment, and rare interpretive depth, she was recognized with a MacArthur "genius grant" Fellowship in 2011. Her global career takes her to prestigious international venues for solo recitals, chamber concerts, and concerto collaborations.
