Ethel Smyth — Mass in D major
Witness music history in the making! Cathedral Choral Society joins forces with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for the riveting Washington premiere of Ethel Smyth's Mass in D and Mozart's rarely heard Meistermusik.
Dame Ethel Smyth was an amazing woman: not only was she a suffragette at the turn of the 20th Century, but she was also a brilliant British composer who rubbed elbows with the likes of Johannes Brahms and Clara Schumann. Join us in celebrating Smyth’s stunning Mass in D the way that it deserves, majestically showcased for the first time in a major U.S. venue with one of America's finest orchestras.
