About The Washington Philharmonic Orchestra

Washington Philharmonic Orchestra (WPO) is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) registered in the state of Maryland. The Orchestra formed by music and art enthusiasts in the Greater Washington DC area.

The Orchestra aims to enrich the cultural life of local music and art enthusiasts, enhance community activities promote musical knowledge, conduct instrument performance skill education, elevate the artistic cultivation of members and the public, facilitate the exchange of Eastern and Western cultural arts, and provide a platform to showcase the achievements of symphonic music art.

About Yuqiang Dai, tenor

Yuqiang Dai, an internationally renowned Chinese tenor singer and the only Asian disciple of Luciano Pavarotti, has successfully performed nearly a hundred concerts in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, London, Sydney, Cologne, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Vancouver. His repertoire includes well known Western operas, such as Tosca, Turandot, La Boheme, Aida, Wildfire and Spring Breeze Fighting the Ancient City, Sun and Snow, The Psalms of Mulan, etc. as well as original Chinese operatic works from different eras and regions.

About Chiara Taigi, soprano

Born in Rome, soprano Chiara Taigi has more than 25 years of career, with more than 70 operas in her repertoire and more than 500 performances and concerts worldwide. Her repertoire encompasses leading soprano roles in operas such as Tosca, La Boheme, Aida, Un Ballo in Maschera, Pagliaccio, Simon Boccanegra, La Traviata, The Marriage of Figaro, Suor Angelica, Don Giovanni, and Cavalleria Rusticana.

About Guo-fu Ma, conductor

Guo-fu Ma, a senior music conductor in Greater Washington DC, is the former director of Nanjing Singing and Dancing Ensemble. He studied at the North Carolina School of Music in Winston Sainte-Marie. He also studied with professor Hong Fan, a renowned conductor of romantic style from Vienna, Switzerland. He is the director and conductor of the Yellow River Chorus in Greater Washington, DC. as well as the Washington Philharmonic Orchestra.
