Leoš Janáček — Mládí ("Youth")
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467
Experience the final chapter in Mitsuko Uchida and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra's five-year exploration of Mozart's piano concertos. The renowned pianist and Mozart interpreter leads the ensemble in Piano Concerto No. 21—most famous for its poetic Andante—and Piano Concerto No. 18, notable for its beautiful writing for winds. Characterful wind music is also found in Janáček's Mládí, a sextet that nods back to the age of Mozart. With Uchida leading from the keyboard, listeners can expect a performance both deeply felt and expertly informed.
