Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky — Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50
Join us in welcoming a new, bona fide super-group to Carnegie Hall in this concert of chamber music masterpieces. This all-star trio reunites a pair of longtime musical friends: Anne-Sophie Mutter, the "undisputed queen of violin-playing" (The Times, London) and "superhuman" pianist Yefim Bronfman, who "pushes [the] boundaries of what's possible on piano" (The Seattle Times). Completing the ensemble is the outstanding Spanish cellist Pablo Ferrández, one of music's fastest rising stars and a protégé of Mutter. Together, they perform a program of awe-inspiring piano trios by Beethoven and Tchaikovsky.
