The French National Orchestra of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is organizing a United States tour to celebrate the bicentennial of the Marquis de Lafayette's travels back to America as "Guest of the Nation," 50 years after his heroic fight for American Independence. Born at the Château de Chavaniac, in Auvergne, the Marquis de Lafayette is an emblematic historical figure who fought and bled for America's cause. He is a lasting symbol of the strong bond between France & the United States.
The tour will focus on the key cities and landmarks of Lafayette's visit in 1825, including Washington, Charleston, Nashville, New Orleans, the United States Military Academy at West Point & others...
Led by conductor Thomas Zehetmair, the French National Orchestra of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes will perform a wonderful program related to Lafayette's story and the historical period of his tour while an immersive sound and light experience will retrace the Marquis' travels and incredible story.
