This February, our star-studded chamber series will turn star-crossed in this musical tribute to the ecstasies and exquisite pains of love known to all Valentines. From references to Romeo and Juliet in Beethoven's Op. 18, No. 1 Quartet, to Alexander Borodin's String Quartet No. 2, popularized by the musical and love story Kismet, the Artisan String Quartet will have you swooning! Also to be featured are multiple string quartets by Joseph Bologne (the first classical composer of African descent to gain worldwide acclaim) as well as Edward Grieg.

About the Neill-Cochran House Museum: Dating back to 1856, the Neill-Cochran House is one of the ten oldest buildings in Austin. Its columned, Greek facade and rough, brick exterior is an historic and ideal setting for Beerthoven's mix of refinement and approachability. Our Saturday afternoon performance will take place in the Museum's main gallery.
Parking Info: Limited parking will be available for free on-site in Neill-Cochran House's own lot, accessible via 23rd street in between Leon and San Gabriel. Additional parking can be found on street and at the Quarters Parking Garage in West Campus: 700-898 W 22 1/2 St, Austin, TX 78705
About Beerthoven
The critically-acclaimed Beerthoven Concert Series is a down-to-earth, approachable celebration of classical song, chamber music, and beer; a quirky mixture of Bach and Doppelbock in unique and intimate settings. Beerthoven finds its inspiration in the musical and festive events of the Austin Saengerrunde as well as the private "salon" concerts of Beethoven's time. Beerthoven events feature live classical music, free beer, and other refreshments and snacks in an all-inclusive manner. There is no backstage here; audience members may even find themselves standing in line for beer with the performers.
