Opus 7 performs a Lenten concert of profound music for choir and orchestra by Eastern European composers as a musical prayer for hope and perseverance; comfort for those who grieve and those who are fearful; and peace and justice in Ukraine.
The concert features the Northwest premiere of both Ukrainian composer Oleksandr Shchetynsky's Requiem and Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür's For Ukraine, his personal response to the war.
Opus 7 Vocal Ensemble is joined by the Opus 7 Chamber Orchestra with Mary Sokol Brown as concertmaster. This concert is dedicated to the people of Ukraine and we'll be collecting donations to support continued relief efforts.
