Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra: Storytime with the Symphony

The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra is pleased to present a 3-concert series in partnership with Word Up Community Bookshop, featuring books from the "Uptown Kid Lit" list with thoughtful connections to themes that will be familiar to every child growing up in Washington Heights. All performances will take place at Recirculation, a project of Word Up Community Bookshop. Storytime will be presented bilingually (English and Spanish) by narrator Sarah Almodovar.
Sunday, February 9th, 4pm-5pm: Angélica and la Güira by Angie Cruz
Sunday, March 9th, 4pm-5pm: Nighttime Symphony by Christopher Myers and Timbaland
Sunday April 6th, 4pm-5pm: The Hello, Goodbye Window by Norton Juste

The Washington Heights Chamber Orchestra was founded in August 2015 to serve the communities of Washington Heights and Upper Manhattan with affordable, outstanding neighborhood concert experiences. WHCO aims to be a place that connects great art across genres and cultures and reconnects people in the community, creating an experience that celebrates diversity and enriches the lives of uptown residents.
