Works & Process & Experiments in Opera: 'Custom of the Coast' Concert Performance

Custom of the Coast is a new opera interweaving the life stories of Anne Bonny, an 18th-century Irish pirate who escaped execution by "pleading the belly," and Savita Halapannavar, the Indian-born, Irish-based dentist who died in 2012 having been denied an abortion.
This concert performance will be the culmination of a weeklong residency at Potash Hill, sponsored by Works & Process and Experiments in Opera. Composer Kamala Sankaram and librettist Paul Muldoon will participate in a moderated discussion following the performance.
