Music at Emmanuel: Nordic Song
$10 advance, $15 at the door
- Claire Galloway, soprano
- Colin Levin, baritone
- John Henderson, piano
When one thinks of European art song, Schubert and Schumann or Fauré and Debussy are often the composers who spring to mind. And, while these German and French masters are indeed famous for a reason, the Nordic countries of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland also cultivate a vast—and oft overlooked—tradition of glorious konstlåt. In this special program—featuring local beloved soprano Claire Galloway and baritone Colin Levin—explore a treasury of repertoire from the oeuvres of Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, and other Nordic masters.
