This concert features Ralph Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs with Kevin Spooner as bass-baritone soloist, string quartet, The Oratorio Society chorus, and community singers, under director Michael Slon. The works sets four poems by George Herbert, a Welsh poet and Anglican priest in the sixteenth century. It also has works by a variety of composers including Rosephanye Powell, Libby Larsen, and Morten Lauridsen. Benefits the Literacy Volunteers of Charlottesville/Albemarle.
