Agnes Scott Professor Qiao Chen Solomon (violin) is Joined by Martin Gueorguiev (cello) and Paolo Andre Gualdi (piano) as their ensemble, The Eurasia Trio, will perform selections from their debut album, “Unveiled,” a celebration of the iconic works of German Romantic women composers Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn.
The trio aims to spotlight the extraordinary contributions of Schumann and Mendelssohn to classical music, bringing their often-overlooked legacies to contemporary audiences. Their passionate and skillful interpretations breathe new life into these historic works, inviting listeners to experience their enduring brilliance.
This concert is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend!
About Martin Gueorguiev, cello
Dr. Martin Gueorguiev has performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player throughout Europe and the United States. As a founding member of the Balkan Quartet, Dr. Gueorguiev has appeared with the quartet at Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage Series, the Spoleto Music Festival in Charleston, SC and at the Arts Club in Washington, DC.
Dr. Gueorguiev holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Georgia, as well as a Master Degree in Music Performance from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor Degree in Music Performance from Lynn University (formerly the Harid Conservatory). Dr. Gueorguiev serves as an Artist-Affiliate and teaches cello at Oxford College of Emory University, and at Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, GA.

Italian pianist Paolo André Gualdi has played recitals in Italy, France, Brazil and the United States. He has also appeared with many orchestras including the Georgia Philharmonic, Wilmington Symphony, Atlanta Philharmonic, Florence Symphony, DeKalb Symphony, and the Universidade de Caxias do Sul Symphony Orchestra.
He earned his Piano Diploma with highest honours at the Conservatory Arrigo Boito in Parma. While in the U.S., he earned a Masters Degree in Piano Performance at Carnegie Mellon University and a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance at the University of Georgia.
He has won the top prize in numerous piano competitions, including the European Competition of Ostuni, the Altruda National Competition of Vasto and the Françoise Grimaldi National Competition of San Polo. Gualdi regularly gives master classes and lectures nationally and internationally at universities, conservatories and other music institutes, including New Mexico State University and College of Charleston. Having previously served on the faculties of Elon University, Emmanuel College and Oxford College of Emory University, he is currently Associate Professor of Music at Francis Marion University and founder and artistic director of the South Carolina Chamber Music Festival.
