Cellist Noémie Raymond and pianist Zhenni Li-Cohen present a deeply personal recital of works by Rachmaninoff, Clarke, and Thomas. Written in the same year as his famous Piano Concerto No. 2, this Sonata heralded Rachmaninoff's return to composition after a period of paralyzing depression. Clarke's work follows a similar period of rebirth, three years after she moved to the United States. This concert also presents the New York premiere of a Sonata by Christian Thomas, dedicated to Mrs. Raymond and Li-Cohen.
