Antonín Dvořák's Czech Suite, one of his most buoyant and engaging compositions, is permeated with the folk spirit of his beloved homeland; this inexplicably-ignored work is given a rare performance by the Sammamish Symphony. The program's first half honors Austro-German traditions in music: we begin with Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 91 (in a unique arrangement for wind ensemble) and continue with Paul Hindemith's spirited Five Pieces for String Orchestra.
