About Choir of the West
The Choir of the West is the premier choral ensemble at Pacific Lutheran University. Founded in 1926, the choir was the third Lutheran college choir to tour extensively throughout the United States. Composed of undergraduate students from a variety of academic disciplines, the ensemble performs several concerts each year, including shared programs with other PLU ensembles, the annual series of five Christmas Concerts (filmed for broadcast on PBS in 2015), and other campus celebratory events. The choir tours domestically in three out of four years, and once every four years tours internationally.

Katherine L. White Invitational Choral Festival (or Kay White Choral Fest) showcases six of the Northwest's finest and most diverse choral ensembles. The Kay White Choral Fest is a non-competitive event that seeks to support and celebrate the musical excellence and individuality of each invited ensemble. Ensembles are given their own evening or matinee performance slot to perform a full program that sings of their uniqueness, echoes their musical influences and legacies, and resonates with their community.
