In a luscious program centered around "Mother Nature," Ann Moss (soprano) and Hillary Nordwell (piano) share music ranging from the German Romantics to a world premiere by San Francisco Bay Area composer Nancy Bachmann. Guest artist Eliza Siracusan joins them on clarinet for Schubert's delightful concert aria, Shepherd on the Rock.

About Ann Moss, soprano
Soprano Ann Moss is an acclaimed recording artist, passionate teaching artist, and champion of contemporary vocal music. Described as a "fearless performer” of some of the most challenging music of the last two hundred years, Ann’s artistic mission is to lift up contemporary vocal literature to serve as narrative for the hard to speak about issues of our times. Her newest album Now I Am, with songs by Stephen Sondheim, Joni Mitchell, Cyndi Lauper and Tom Petty, was released on January 1st, 2025. She can also be heard on commercial releases from Angels Share Records, Albany Records, ARSIS Audio, Navona, Naxos, Ravello, and Jaded Ibis Productions. A twice-elected Governor of the SF Chapter of the Recording Academy, Ann shares that organization’s commitment to promoting diversity & inclusion, advocating for creators rights, protecting musicians in need, and saving music in our schools. She has been a featured soloist with San Francisco Symphony, SF Chamber Orchestra, UC Berkeley Symphony, West Edge Opera, SF Contemporary Music Players, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Earplay, Music of Remembrance, the Ives, Alexander, Lydian and Hausmann String Quartets. She is a native of Lincoln, MA and a graduate of Hampshire College, the Longy School of Music of Bard College, and San Francisco Conservatory. A long-time resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Ann Moss recently returned to Massachusetts with her husband, multi-instrumentalist Justin Ouellet. She currently serves on the Voice Faculty at Groton Hill Music Center and as Resident Vocal Instructor at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University, while maintaining an active private teaching studio at home.

Hillary Nordwell recently relocated to Bellevue, Washington after spending the past 16 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has been featured as a soloist and chamber musician in many Bay Area and Washington State concert venues, as well as in Germany, Italy, Austria, and Sweden. She cultivates a thriving Suzuki Piano studio and is in demand as a collaborative pianist. A certified Suzuki Piano Teacher Trainer, she participates actively on the board of the local Suzuki Association, and is instrumental in providing training opportunities for teachers and students. She also enjoys educating young children and their families through her Comfy Concert series.
Hillary received her masters degree in Chamber Music Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and her bachelors degree in Piano Performance from Lawrence Conservatory in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she was honored for three consecutive years with the Marjory Irvin Prize for "excellence in solo piano and chamber music." In 2001, she spent a semester abroad in Vienna, studying piano and developing a love for opera and the German language.
In her free time, Hillary finds joy in observing her daughter's progress in cello and piano, and in their daily walks to school together through the trees. She is eternally grateful for her husband’s skill in technology, which has saved her countless hours of frustration!

Clarinetist Eliza Siracusan received her Bachelor's degree in performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2005. Her primary teachers were Kim Fay, Richard Hawkins, Linnea Nereim, and Franklin Cohen. Eliza plays as much chamber music as she possibly can and especially enjoys collaborating with strings and piano. She performs with the Seattle Collaborative Orchestra and as principal clarinet with Octava Chamber Orchestra. Eliza also performs with the Harmonia Orchestra, Philharmonia NW, and Saratoga Orchestra of Whidbey Island.
