About Juliet Stratton, harp
Juliet Stratton is a professional freelance harpist who performs regularly throughout the Pacific Northwest. Her performances are characterized by a deep emotional resonance and technical proficiency, captivating audiences and leaving a lasting impression wherever she plays. She received her bachelor's degree in music from the University of Washington, and a master's degree in harp performance from Northwestern University.
She has had the honor of serving as Acting Principal Harpist with both the Cincinnati and Seattle Symphonies and Operas, Principal Harpist with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Other notable engagements include the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Pacific NW Ballet, Northwest Sinfonietta, Auburn Symphony, and Intiman Theater. Earlier in her career, she was an award winner of the Ladies Musical Club and Seattle Young Artists Solo Competitions, and Bushell Concerto Competition.
Juliet has had the rare privilege of working with nearly every performing arts organization in the state; in chamber ensembles, symphony orchestras, choral and opera organizations, youth symphonies, college orchestras, as an orchestral soloist, vocal accompanist, and musical theater productions. As a recording artist, she can be heard on numerous orchestral, chamber and choral recordings, motion picture soundtracks, IMAX films, and video game scores. She is also a dedicated and inspiring music teacher and enjoys sharing her love of the harp and enthusiasm for music with her students. She finds her greatest fulfillment collaborating with talented musicians, connecting emotionally with her audience, and bringing stories to life through her instrument.
Beyond her musical career, Juliet is an avid nature lover and pet enthusiast, and enjoys long walks in the woods, hiking, dog walking, pet and nature photography, singing, playing piano, and cuddling at home in Kirkland with her cat Arya.
