Founded by five musicians, Sound of Late is a modern music collective that presents casual, intimate concerts of chamber music in Portland and Seattle. On October 28, the new season begins with an exploration of life and memory, including the haunting and evocative music of Japanese minimalist Somei Satoh. The centerpiece of the evening is Anna Clyne’s Steelworks, accompanied by a video collage created by visual artist R. Luke DuBois. Hailed as an "an overwhelming sonic tour de force" by the Chicago Tribune, Steelworks incorporates recordings of machinery and interviews with employees at Flame Cut Steelworks, the last steelworks factory in Brooklyn.
