Four-time Grammy Award-winner and violinist extraordinaire Anne-Sophie Mutter joins the BSO for Beethoven's lyrical Violin Concerto in D major, a work that pushed the boundaries of the concerto and still thrills audiences today. Sir Andrew Davis, Principal Conductor of the Lyric Opera of Chicago, presents two picturesque and evocative tales from the English repertoire, a passionate work from Delius’ opera A Village Romeo and Juliet and Elgar’s masterful tone poem Falstaff.
