The School Without Walls Music Department, consisting of various instrumental and choral ensembles offer Walls students a stepping stone in the pursuit of a better education. Along with being well-rounded in rigorous academic subjects, students in the Music department have the opportunity to learn what it is like to perform in a band, orchestra, jazz, chorus, piano, guitar and various other ensembles, which may become a career option further down the line. The students work to learn all the aspects of creating music with other people. From expanding their knowledge of musical theory, to becoming better sight readers, to practicing the art of original composition, the musicians in the SWW music department now have the opportunity to attain the skills necessary to perhaps become professional musicians.
