Melissa Dunphy — Selected works

Born to refugee parents and raised in Australia, Melissa Dunphy immigrated to the United States in 2003 and has since become an award-winning and acclaimed composer specializing in vocal, political, and theatrical music.

"I want my music to be relevant to the world around it and exist in that world. It is inspired by and explores real-world issues of social justice and personal relationships. I am deeply committed to bringing the voices of women and minorities to the stage." – Melissa Dunphy

"Contemporary composer Dr. Melissa Dunphy has made her mark on Philly in more ways than one. The Australia native has created a unique and enlightening musical experience by taking social or political commentary and transforming it into works of art." – Metro Philadelphia

Pre-concert conversation at 7pm.

2022-23 season performances will also be livestreamed for free; donations will be gratefully accepted.

Attending in person: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at the door for all Seattle Pro Musica events this season. Additionally, audience members will be expected to remain masked at all times while indoors.
