Please join the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra for our season opener. Dr. Paul-Elliot Cobbs will conduct two American masterpieces and a fireworks-infused showpiece for violin.

Our concert will open with the sublime "Andante Moderato" from Florence Price's String Quartet No. 1. Similar to Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, Price's deeply spiritual work and soulful melody will leave a palpable impression.

The Everett Phil’s concertmaster, Patrice Weed Shearer, is sure to raise everyone's heartbeat with the energetic Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso by Camille Saint-Saëns. We just might see smoke rising from her bow as she plays a multitude of notes that would leave a bumble bee envious.

We'll conclude the afternoon with William Grant Still's American masterpiece, the "Afro-American" Symphony. Still's symphony is a jazz-and-blues-infused epic associated with the Harlem Renaissance. This massive work was the subject of Dr. Cobb's dissertation, and he'll be conducting strings, full winds and brass, harp, celeste, and even banjo from the composer's original manuscript.

Season tickets are also on sale for those looking to lock in their seats for our entire season. More information: https://www.everettphil.org/season-subcription
