Melissa DunphyLISTEN
Mari Ésabel Valverde — Selected works
Suzanne Vega — Selected works
The Wailin' Jennys — Selected works

Resonance opens the season with a concert focusing on reproductive justice and bodily autonomy. The sopranos and altos of Resonance fight back against recent Supreme Court and state-level decisions preventing individuals from making choices about their own bodies.

With a revival of the 2019 Resonance commission of Melissa Dunphy's pointed work LISTEN (comprised of excerpts from the testimonies of Christine Blasey Ford and Anita Hill), this concert will also feature music by Mari Esabel Valverde, Suzanne Vega, the Wailin’ Jennys, and other voices smashing the patriarchy.

About Resonance Ensemble

Resonance Ensemble, a professional vocal ensemble based in Portland, Oregon, creates powerful programs that promote meaningful social change. Resonance works to amplify voices that have long been silenced, and they do so through moving, thematic concerts that highlight solo and choral voices, new music by composers and poets whose stories have been underrepresented on the concert stage, visual and other performing artists, and community partners.
