The Raven Trio is composed of flutist Madeleine Strong, guitarist Caleb Bailey and violinist Holly Nelson. They will be joined by pianist Hui-Chuan Chen. The ensemble formed at the Peabody Institute of Music when Grammy Award-winning cellist Zuill Bailey invited them to perform in his Young Artist Development Series together.
In honor of Latin American Heritage Month, the trio presents a thrilling program of Latin American and Spanish music, including the premiere of Southamericana, written for the Raven Trio by celebrated young Colombian composer Fabian Beltran. Classical music, tango, samba, Spanish folk dances, and Latin jazz combine for a truly unforgettable evening.
