Shulamit Ran — Moon Songs
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Divertimento for String Trio in E-flat major, K. 563
Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Shulamit Ran was in residence at Marlboro Music in 2018 and worked extensively on her music with these musicians in Vermont. Alternating between contemplation and ecstasy, Ran's Moon Songs for soprano, flute, cello, and piano are at the center of this program, which includes Mozart's Divertimento, a singular work that achieves "something special in the way of art, invention, and good spirits."
