(selections; arr. The Hands Free)
The Hands Free is a new acoustic quartet of cutting-edge, genre-hopping musicians featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning composer-violinist-singer Caroline Shaw, James Moore (guitar/banjo), Nathan Koci (accordion), and Eleonore Oppenheim (bass). Here, they pair with mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran ("magnificent," LA Times), who starred on Broadway in The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. Drawing upon classical, folk, and jazz idioms, theirs is "a beautifully eclectic mix of sounds" that maintains "the warmth and spontaneity of an impromptu jam session." (Second Inversion)
