Saturday, April 29, 2023 @ 8:00pm – 10:00pm (PDT)

Note: Regretfully, Rémi Geniet is unable to travel to Seattle this month due to delays with artist visa processing. Pianist Natasha Paremski will step in to perform in his place on the Rachmaninov Piano Concertos Nos. 3 & 4 program on Saturday, April 29, at 8pm. This change does not affect the scheduled program.

One of the great pianists of his day, Sergey Rachmaninov poured his encyclopedic knowledge of the instrument into his compositions, creating some of the most challenging works in the piano repertoire — four piano concertos that are a tour-de-force of pianistic effects and require jaw-dropping technique to perform.

We celebrate the 150th anniversary of Rachmaninov's birth, performing his full cycle of piano concertos over two nights amid the stunning acoustics of Benaroya Hall. On April 27, pianists Dominic Cheli and Alexander Malofeev start our celebration with Rachmaninov's First and Second Concertos. On April 29, pianists Natasha Paremski and Albert Cano Smit complete the set with Rachmaninov’s Third and Fourth Concertos.
