Philharmonia Northwest & MCNW: Masterclass with Mary Elizabeth Bowden, trumpet
Free
Philharmonia Northwest and Music Center of the Northwest present a masterclass with classical trumpeter Mary Elizabeth Bowden. Bowden, Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Shenandoah University, has built an in-demand career as a soloist, and praised for her "splendid, brilliant" playing (Gramophone Magazine) and her "pure, refined, and warm" tone (American Record Guide). A Gold Medal Global Music Award Winner, Opus Klassik Nominee, and Yamaha Performing Artist, she has also worked to establish a new repertoire for the trumpet through creative, collaborative commissioning projects and award-winning albums.
Elementary–high school trumpet players are invited to perform.
This event is free to attend and open to a public audience.
Bowden will also perform as soloist on Vivian Fung's Trumpet Concert with Philharmonia Northwest, on February 12 at 2pm at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center in Shoreline. More info: https://www.livemusicproject.org/events/67963/philharmonia-northwest-the-trumpet-shall-sound
