Dmitri Shostakovich — Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47 ("IV. Allegro non troppo")
The Wind Symphony is back! After a forced COVID hiatus, the group has come back to life. Conductor Anton Coleman has programmed two classic concert band pieces by esteemed American composer Persichetti.
The Symphony Orchestra, led by Anna Wittstruck, will open with Prokofiev's second violin concerto, with Dr. Maria Sampen as soloist, and conclude with the Finale from Shostakovich's 5th Symphony.
