Among his generation of concert artists, awarding-winning pianist Awadagin Pratt is acclaimed for his musical insight and intensely involving performances in recital and with symphony orchestras. He appears here in recital with a program featuring classic and modern masterworks for the piano. They include selections from Philip Glass' Glassworks, Couperin's Les Baricades Mystériuses, Pēteris Vasks's Castillo Interior, Fred Hersch's "Nocturne for Left Hand Alone" from Three Character Studies, Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in D major, Chopin’s Nocturne in B major, Tchaikovsky's Intermezzo from The Nutcracker arranged by Pletnev, and Liszt's Piano Sonata in B minor.
