The Balourdet Quartet is joined at Dumbarton by Adam W. Sadberry in a feast of post-romantic idylls— from the melancholy delicacy of Amy Beach to the disarming insouciance of Heitor Villa-Lobos and the irresistible lyricism of Hugo Wolf – that promise to linger in the heart long after the music stops.

Based in Boston, the Balourdet Quartet is currently in residence at the New England Conservatory of Music and received the Grand Prize at the 2021 Concert Artists Guild Competition. The program will feature flutist and educator Adam W. Sadberry, fellow winner of the 2021 Concert Artists Guild Competition, who is known for his radiant, lyrical playing and his commitment to promoting equity, representation, education, and the commissioning of music that tells stories of the Black diaspora. Named an artist to watch in The Washington Post's list of 23 for '23, flutist and educator Adam W. Sadberry is paving a distinctive career with his citizenry, creativity, and vibrancy both on and off stage.
