This annual concert, in Seattle’s world-class Benaroya Hall, is a "Birthday Celebration for America" and will feature a variety of festive American classics, both old and new. The program includes selections by Aaron Copland, Samuel Barber, Omar Thomas, Sammy Nestico, and John Phillip Sousa. The performance will feature guest soloist Sarah Viens, principal trumpet of Pacific Northwest Ballet.
Dr. John Falskow, Seattle Wind Symphony artistic director and conductor, leads the ensemble with an eye for celebrating diversity in compositions for wind band. We are joined again by the wonderful Seattle Wind Symphony Chorus, led by Dr. Linda Gingrich. Dave Beck of Classical KING-FM 98.1 returns as the concert host and announcer.
