Organist Dr. Kirsten Santos Rutschman takes us on a whirlwind tour of Northern Europe in conclusion of our Concerts à la Carte season!

Kirsten's musical travelogue will make several stops to visit composers in Vienna (Brahms), Germany (Bach), England and Wales (Vaughan Williams), Norway (Grieg) and Sweden (music for the King at the Royal Palace on the "King of Instruments" — the organ!

Full-length BMC Night Beat is on Friday, May 19, 7:30pm, at First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham. No ticket purchase is required, and all students are free; we suggest a $20 donation for others.

About Kirsten Santos Rutschman, organ

A Bellingham (WA) native, Dr. Kirsten Santos Rutschman currently plays the four-manual, 5,206-pipe Austin Organ at Wayne Presbyterian Church, PA, where she is the full-time Interim Director of Music. Kirsten holds degrees from Duke University, Linköping University (Sweden), and Stanford University. She has played historic pipe organs in Italy, Germany and Sweden. She also completed Fulbright-supported musicology research in Sweden.
