Jack London State Historic Park, Glen Ellen, CA, United States

Join us for our 3rd IN A LANDSCAPE at Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, California. Thanks to the sponsorship of Lasseter Family Winery, each guest will receive a ticket for one complimentary glass of wine. Concert check-in opens at 4pm, and the performance begins at 5pm. Please arrive early enough to park and walk to the site.

Jack London Park was once the home and ranch of the man and the legend, Jack London (born John Griffith Chaney), famous for his literary accomplishments as well as his dramatic exploits, exotic travels, and adventures. Jack's second wife, Charmian Kittredge London, was a force herself, a writer of several books, and Jack's editor and collaborator.

The Park is a unique blend of stunning landscapes and historic buildings, managed by Jack London Park Partners. The group is the first non-profit organization to take up management of a state park on behalf of the people of California, having saved it from closure in 2012 due to state budgetary cuts.

Plan to spend time here before the concert, touring the ruins of Jack & Charmian's home that burned before they moved in, the cottage they lived in for many years, Charmian's home built after Jack died, now a fascinating museum, and exploring the trails and vineyards before you join us at the piano in the Winery Ruins.

About IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild

A SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR OUTDOOR EXPERIENCE

Founded in 2016 by classical pianist Hunter Noack, IN A LANDSCAPE: Classical Music in the Wild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit outdoor concert series where America's most stunning landscapes replace the traditional concert hall. A 9-foot Steinway grand piano travels on a flatbed trailer to State and National Parks, urban greenspaces, working ranches, farms, and historical sites for classical music concerts that connect people with each landscape.

To meet the acoustical challenges of performing in the wild, music is transmitted to concert-goers via wireless headphones. No longer confined to seats, audiences explore the landscape, wander through secret glens, lie in sunny meadows, and roam old growth forests.
