Konstantin Soukhovetski plays familiar favorites/standards in a mix of classical and contemporary, interspersed with cabaret-style storytelling. Konstantin will play many of my 'lighter' transcriptions: Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Madonna's Vogue, ABBA's Dancing Queen—with some classical favorites for good measure! He’ll be joined by Vyacheslav Gryaznov to play a piano duo!

About PianoFête 2024: Each summer, Fête Curator and award-winning pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov selects four acclaimed musicians to join him for a residency on Vashon Island. Working together, they create four entirely different programs from their combined repertoire. (VCA will announce the pianists and nightly programs in the coming weeks!)

PianoFête is unique among other piano festivals across the country in that it features two beautiful Steinway Concert Grands on stage, throughout the festival. Each evening's performance showcases a different soloist, who is then joined by one (or more!) of their colleagues to close the program playing four-hand piano, and piano duos.

The PianoFête finale features Fête Curator Vyacheslav Gryaznov, culminating with all four pianists on both pianos accompanied by the Vashon Maury Chamber Orchestra. It's a finish to resonate in the hearts of all those who are lucky enough to attend!

About Konstantin Soukhovetski, piano

Konstantin Soukhovetski has performed at the Kennedy Center's Terrace Theater, Paris' Musee du Louvre, Bern’s Paul Klee Zentrum, Carnegie's Weill, and Zankel halls. For his debut at Lincoln Center Alice Tully Hall, Konstantin was praised on the NYTimes Arts Section cover: "Romanticism so intense it warms up Philip Glass." He is an adjunct faculty of his alma mater, The Juilliard School, where he received his BM, MM, and AD with Jerome Lowenthal. Konstantin has been recently named Director of Pedagogy and Narrative Musicianship at Bronx School for Music. Konstantin's creativity expands to innovative artistic projects that frequently involve modern dance. In 2022, Konstantin premiered Encounters, a commission by MorDance from Polina Nazaykinskaya, which involved him in the choreography while he was performing on the piano, the only music for the ballet. In April 2023, Konstantin premiered Ms. Nazaykinskaya's new ballet Emily with MorDance.
