Under Fortuna's guided hand, we find ourselves at "The Paths of Fate," our second concert of our season: The Sounds of Destiny. Beginning with Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni, the opera's themes of love, morality, chaos, and consequences set the stage for the emotional and existential choices we all face. Einaudi's Experience follows, illustrating the struggle of having to choose our own paths but the hope and faith in ourselves to carry on. The longing for unchosen paths is poignantly portrayed, however, reminding us that no matter our choice, our journeys are meant to be.

Guest conductor Conrad Chu will lead us through Pelléas et Mélisande by Sibelius, showing us the inevitability of both companionship and solitude as we fall in love with our journey. Closing the concert, Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4, Op. 36, reminds us that the paths before us, shaped by our choices and circumstances, are already laid out by fate.

Join us as we delve into the profound and timeless themes that shape our existence, through the power of music and the narratives it weaves.

About Litha Symphony Orchestra

Through invigorating interpretations from the symphonic literature, as well as arrangements of works realized anew, Litha Symphony Orchestra is committed to bringing the excitement and energy of summer to its audiences and musicians alike.

Litha Symphony Orchestra was founded in early 2012 by a group of musicians who wanted to create an outlet for performing classical orchestral music in the New York metropolitan area during the summer, which is traditionally the off-season for most orchestras. As the full orchestra performs mostly during the summer season, the orchestra decided to use the name "Litha" – the celebration of the summer solstice – as the signature name for the organization.
