The National Symphony Orchestra Summer Music Institute Orchestra presents two concerts as part of its four-week festival. This year marks the 31st anniversary of the program and features musicians ages 15–20 from 19 states and 4 countries.
The first concert features Starburst by Grammy Award–winning American composer Jessie Montgomery, Claude Debussy's beautiful symphonic poem Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune, Benjamin Britten's Four Sea Interludes from Peter Grimes, and Igor Stravinsky's powerful masterpiece, The Firebird Suite.
This concert is free and are appropriate for all ages.
Attending in person: Patrons need to present either a printed email confirmation or show the email confirmation on their smart device. Tickets that have not been claimed by 15 minutes prior to the start of the performance will be released and distributed to a stand-by line.
This is a first come-first serve event; a reservation confirmation does not guarantee you a ticket. Please arrive early to exchange your email confirmation at the Hall of Nations Box Office for a ticket to be seated in the Concert Hall.
