NSO Music for Young Audiences: M^2= (Math x Music)
$25-$26
- Joel Fuller, violin
- Derek Powell, violin
- Mahoko Eguchi, viola
- Rachel Young, cello
It all adds up—listen and learn how music and math are connected.
The Last Stand Quartet performs a lively program linking the ways in which math is present in all music-making, creating music to move to and engage with on a deeper level. Add together four National Symphony Orchestra musicians—violinists Joel Fuller and Derek Powell, violist Mahoko Eguchi, and cellist Rachel Young—and this ensemble will show audiences how math times music equals fun!
Most enjoyed by ages 5+. Performances on Feb. 1 & 2.
Come early for a Musical PLAYspace: Prior to each performance, the NSO Volunteer Council will hold a Musical PLAYspace. Children will have the opportunity to try out the instruments they’ll see played on the stage.
Stay after for a Creative Conversation: Following the performance on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 1:30pm, young audience members can ask questions and hear stories from the show’s artists and creative team.
