Exceptional all-female vocal group Lorelei Ensemble joins the NSO to perform Her Story, Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Julia Wolfe's large-scale theatrical work drawn from letters written by the trailblazing suffragettes fighting for their right to vote.
Conductor Marin Alsop opens the concert with Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, an exotic journey of love, peril, and intrigue inspired by the famous folktale about a clever young queen who spins 1001 fantastical stories to outwit a murderous sultan.
Performances on Feb. 27 & Mar. 1.
