Igor Stravinsky — Le Sacre du printemps ("The Rite of Spring")
Uproar greeted Stravinsky's Rite of Spring, ushering in a musical revolution with its depiction of violence and Pagan ritual. The Seattle Symphony is proud to have co-commissioned a new work by Brian Raphael Nabors. Drawing inspiration from Maya Angelou's writings, he celebrates the dawn of a new day of peacemaking. And Mozart's sublime 22nd Piano Concerto strikes a balance between storms and blue skies, with Jan Lisiecki back on our stage by popular demand.
Pre-concert talk presented one hour prior to each performance. Free with ticket purchase.
