With its depictions of babbling brooks, bird calls, and an electrifying thunderstorm, Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony evokes the beauty of the Austrian countryside with cinematic clarity. And in Talent & Phoenix, Creative Chair Gabriel Kahane reflects on the devastating 2020 Almeda Fire in Southern Oregon to ask: "How is memory remade, and community rebuilt, when the buildings that housed our past are reduced to ash?"
