Corvallis-OSU Piano International: The Viennese Romantic Piano with David Hyun-Su Kim
$15 advance, $20 at the door (students free)
- David Hyun-Su Kim, fortepiano
In this concert with commentary, David Hyun-Su Kim presents a rare opportunity to hear a beautiful Viennese fortepiano (a Graf) as well as the Steinway concert grand. Much of today's commonly heard repertoire, by composers such as Schubert, Beethoven, Schumann, etc., was conceived and intended to be performed on such an instrument, and its radically different qualities shed new light on familiar compositions.
The concert will feature a performance of Schubert's magnificent Sonata in B-flat major, Opus Posthumous.
