The Mosaic Quartet is the ensemble-inresidence at St. Luke's for the 2024-2025 season. This perofrmance of works by Black composers is presented as a pre-Evensong recital, and is free and open to all.
About Mosaic Quartet (Atlanta)
Jessica Stinson (violin), Tramaine Jones (violin), Shadwa Mussad (viola), and Alana Bennett-Garcia (cello) of the Mosaic Quartet maintain an in-demand performance schedule and international acclaim. This powerhouse ensemble is committed to creating a more equitable and inclusive future for classical music by celebrating BIPOC artistry and using music as a tool for justice. The all-female quartet was formed out of their connection with the Atlanta non-profit organization, Challenge the Stats (CTS), and has performed as a quartet in venues across Atlanta since 2021.

Tramaine Jones began learning the violin at the age of nine and has not put down her instrument since. She is a graduate of the Tri-cities High School Performing Arts Program and went on to receive a highly competitive scholarship to attend Northwestern University. While at NU, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Violin Performance and Master’s Degree in Music Education. Tramaine is a highly-regarded violinist in the Atlanta area and performs regularly with the Symphony Orchestra of Augusta, Tuscaloosa Symphony, and the Harlem Festival Orchestra.
About Shadwa Mussad, viola
About Alana Bennett-Garcia, cello
Alana Bennett-Garcia, an Atlanta-based cellist and dedicated music educator, has solidified her presence as a versatile and emotive performer. A graduate of New York University and Indiana University, Alana has had a varied career where she has been a recording artist, collaborator, and performer for film, dance and theatre. Currently serving as a founding member and cellist for the Mosaic String Quartet, she also holds the position of principal cellist with the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra.
