Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia, described as "technically flawless" by The Strad magazine, leads a multifaceted career as a soloist, composer, commissioner, recording artist, painter, and photographer. His rapid rise to international prominence paralleled his success in numerous major competitions worldwide, which culminated with the silver medal and "Audience Favorite" award at the 2019 XVI International Tchaikovsky Competition. Cañón-Valencia is joined by the internationally renowned pianist and Steinway Artist Victor Santiago Asuncion, who is recognized for his "poised and imaginative playing" by The Washington Post. Their program echoes their passion for collaborating with living composers and championing lesser-known works, featuring music by Henri Duparc, Claude Debussy, John Psathas, Alfred Schnittke, Arturo Márquez, and Igor Stravinsky.
