Join pianist Jorge Federico Osorio as he performs pieces from his latest album, Salón Mexicano. This program of buried treasures from a bygone Romantic era is filled with instantly enjoyable gems of intimate "party music" by influential Mexican composers Ricardo Castro (1864–1907), Manuel M. Ponce (1882–1948), and José Pablo Moncayo (1912-1958).
This program is performed at 1pm and 3pm.
About Jorge Federico Osorio, piano
Recipient of the Medalla Bellas Artes, the highest honor granted by Mexico's National Institute of Fine Arts, Jorge Federico Osorio has been lauded worldwide for his superb musicianship, powerful technique, vibrant imagination, and deep passion. He has performed with many of the world's leading ensembles and conductors, and on concert tours throughout Asia, the Americas, and Europe. An avid chamber music performer, Osorio has served as artistic director of Mexico's Brahms Chamber Music Festival and collaborated with such luminaries as Yo-Yo Ma, Ani Kavafian, Elmar Oliveira, Henryk Szeryng, and the Pacifica and Moscow Quartets.
Osorio has a wide variety of recordings to his credit, including major orchestral piano concerti and solo works.
